Citizen Engagement

“Democracy involves hardship, of unceasing responsibility of the active citizen. Democracy is always a beckoning goal, not a safe harbor. For freedom is an unremitting endeavor, never a final achievement. That is why no office in the land is more important than that of being a citizen”

– US Supreme Court Justice Felix Frankfurter

Having deliberated on the ideas of equality, justice and democracy, participants introspect about their role in society and their ability to affect change. This segment uses case studies to talk about the stories of people who have made significant contributions towards the greater good. External speakers are invited to share their journeys and the personal and professional challenges they had to overcome.

Participants also get an opportunity to share the causes that they feel strongly about, narrate their own experiences and reflect on different leadership styles.
